Her meticulously detailed works explore the subtle beauty found in elevating the quotidian, drawing focus to the objects and moments that surround us in the everyday. Although predominantly working with figurative subjects through her career, Casey has recently turned her attention to botanical and still life subjects in works that are vividly life-like and studied with great intensity. Casey’s oil paintings capture the form, value, colour, textures and reflections of her subjects in a way which asks us to pause and consider them through a lens of renewed clarity. In a world perpetually ‘switched on’ to technology and each other, Casey’s work honours the tactile and the tangible, the essence of that which surrounds us in the physical world. Casey has studied fine art at Curtin University in Perth, graduating with distinction in 2013. She has also completed two courses at The Art Academy in Adelaide, under the tuition of Robin Eley. She received funding to support the development of her arts practice from state and national arts funding programs in 2018. She has held two solo exhibitions in Western Australia and taken part in group shows including The Alternative Archive exhibition series. Casey’s paintings are held in collections across Australia and New Zealand and Germany.
